Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) had recently launched the all new 2014 Corolla Altis sedan in India in the last week of May, 2014 following the launch of the Etios Cross earlier last month. The launch of the new dashing sedan model seems to have already gained its maker and has proven to be a new lucky charm, as the company’s sales rates are up after a long time.
The company has managed to sell a total of 13,230 vehicles last month as compared against the sale of 12,502 units in May last year. This has resulted in the company getting a sales growth of 6 percent. Toyota India’s exports have also increased for the month of May and have clocked at 1,397 units of Etios cars.
In the domestic car market of India, Toyota Kirloskar sold 11,833 vehicles in the month of May 2014 as compared against the sale of 10,023 vehicles in the same month in 2013. This has also accounted for a great sales growth of 18 percent. While commenting on the monthly sales performance of Toyota Kirloskar, the company’s Director and Senior Vice President of the Sales and Marketing division, Mr. N. Raja said that the company has gained back normalcy in the production process and also has registered good market growth in the month of May.
He added that the company has launched the brand new Etios Cross and the All New Corolla Altis, both in the month of May which has also boosted the company’s growth. He said that the company has received a very good response for both the newly launched cars and would like to thank the valued consumers for showing their appreciation for the new vehicles.
He added that the company has already started delivering the new models in the last month itself. Toyota India has registered the sales of 555 units for the Etios Cross and 548 units for the Corolla Altis.
New 11th generation model of the iconic Toyota Corolla Altis was launched in the Indian car market at a starting price of Rs. 11,99,000 for the petrol variant and at Rs. 13,07,324 for the base diesel variant (ex Showroom Delhi). Toyota Kirloskar India had first launched the premium sedan in India back in the year 2003 and has managed to sale a total of 88,500 units of the Corolla Altis in the domestic market ever since.
The all new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis has launched with an all new front face that is much more stylish and aggressively designed than its previous very sober and plain avatar. The all new 11th generation model flaunts a bold face with a wide chrome front grille, sharply designed bumpers, large stylized headlights. The bold character lines running through the length of the car’s sides and the new alloy wheels add to the new sedan model’s charm.
Toyota has also stiffened the suspension of the new Corolla, which has also grown a bit in length in order to provide more legroom.
