Toyota Canada Inc (TCI) had reported that it sold around 10,689 units of Toyota Matrix, which is a good number but if we compare it to that of 2005′s then it seems tiny. In 2005, a total of 24,048 Toyota Matrix made its way to people’s garages. But now, nearly after a decade of leadership, Toyota Matrix is falling behind. The compact cars segment in Canada has become the most important segment of the country and also the most competitive one. Toyota Matrix ruled in its period of time and now that time has gone.

Toyota didn’t brought up any updated version of the Matrix ever since it was launched. It is true that the Matrix kept selling in good numbers for years but now there are other car companies who have got better products. Toyota Matrix couldn’t just stand up against the new developments in the automobile industry.
According to Toyota Canada Inc, the reason they haven’t updated the Matrix in all these years is because they have various other hatchbacks – like the Toyota Yaris, Prius Family, Lexus CT, Scion XB, i, for the Canadians. These are much more advanced, both technologically and ergonomically. Also, they have RAV4 and Lexus NX for people who require more. Toyota is confident in its wide range of products that it is offering to the Canadians and worldwide.
“Who is born, shall die.” Toyota Matrix came into market with a bang and during its journey it had won many hearts. 10 years is a long period of time. People changed, time changed, a whole new level of technology came into being in the automotive industry, but the Matrix didn’t change. It remained the same old car which everyone loved and they still do. And now, Matrix will be gone. It is history. But as we know, even in the worst catastrophes people learn to move on. And they will in this case too.
The other car companies have got some great hatchbacks to offer which would prove to be a good replacement for the Toyota Matrix. Ford has its Focus (hatchback), Mazda is offering the Mazda3 Sport, Hyundai has the stylish and modern Elantra GT which is already on the second position in the list of Top selling cars in Canada, Kia Forte is almost a mirage of the Elantra GT, the Germans (VW) have the Golf which is a hatchback version of Jetta but it costs more than it and in terms of sophistication has a whole new level, Kia Soul is another on the list but it is more of an MPV.
These are the six cars which would be the best replacement for the Toyota Matrix. Each one these cars has various new features and gizmos on offer and with modernization sweeping into the design philosophy of these cars they do look pretty attractive. Costing nearly the same and almost having the same engine specifications, these cars are the future of Canada because the future of Toyota Matrix is its present- that is the End.
