After a long dull market, it is finally a bit of a celebration time for Toyota Kirloskar Motor India. The Japanese car major had recently launched two new cars in India in the month of May, in the form of the new Etios Cross and the all new 2014 Corolla Altis. Both these new car lunches have brought good news for the company and are drawing ample amount of sales volumes.
After Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) showcased the new Etios Cross and the latest-gen 2014 Corolla in February at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, both models made their official market launch in May 2014. And the good news is that as per some sources, TKM is experience much better response than was expected by the company.
TKM’s Director & Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mr. N. Raja has announced that the Etios Cross has recorded 5,400 bookings, while the new Corolla Altis has received over 3,000 bookings. In the month of June the company had sold 922 units of the new Corolla and 626 units of the Etios Cross. Both the new cars from Toyota India are latched with waiting periods. While the dashing Etios Cross has a waiting period of more than 3 months, the new Altis’ its waiting period is about 2 months. This means that both the car models are getting good booking which is more than what the company had expected it would get. Mr. Raja clarified and stressed on the fact that the company is working to increase the production rates for the vehicles to reduce the waiting period.
The new Toyota Etios Cross is a vehicle in a slightly off-beat segment of hatchback-turned-crossovers or pseudo SUVs. The Etios Cross is actually the design overhaul of the Etios Liva hatchback. Toyota has done a good job in giving the vehicle a new sporty look along with full body claddings and many new exterior features to give it a tough and rugged appeal.
This dashing new vehicle is aimed at the young consumers looking to have fun drive experience with a macho and cool new car. The Toyota Etios Cross is the latest model in the Etios family and is available in both petrol and diesel variants.
The new Toyota Etios Cross will fight it out with the market rivals such as the VW Cross Polo and the upcoming Fiat Avventura.
The all new Toyota Corolla Altis has finally made it to the Indian market after being much appreciated in the international markets. The 11th generation Corolla flaunts a bolder and elegant new design and has an aggressive front end and sharp styling elements.
The all new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis which is also available in both petrol and diesel versions come with better interior space, improved suspension and enhanced safety features.
The iconic Toyota Corolla Altis sedan now competes with the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Jetta and Renault Fluence.
