The green vehicles’ pioneer, Toyota Motor is now expected to come with the perfect Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV), and the long wait is almost over. Japanese car maker and the world’s largest car brand Toyota Motor has now announced that it is beginning the mass production of the company’s first hydrogen fuel cell car.
Over a decade Toyota and the other car majors have been researching of the FCV technology which completely green and offers a huge range, great power and road performance, and emits only pure water vapor. The extremely expensive technology has now been quite tamed and many car majors including Hyundai, Honda and Toyota are going to come with their FCVs soon. In fact, Hyundai has already launched its first Fuel Cell Tucson.
Toyota is expected to launch stunning looking FCV in 2015 which it has been showcasing at several auto shows. The water drop shaped cool and futuristic looking Toyota FCV sedan concept’s production model is expected to keep true to its actual concept design, offer great range and come with reasonable pricing as well.
More than anyone else, the expectation levels for Toyota is really high when it comes to the innovative green cars, as this Japanese auto giant is the pioneer of the Hybrid vehicles, which were jeered and sneered at before the arrival of the Toyota Prius Hybrid. The Prius has ever since been a history and a phenomenal success. Though now there are several new hot hybrids, the Toyota Prius is still the leader global hybrid model.
Toyota thinks that the Fuel cell technology is the ultimate green solution to the intimidating battery driven cars which are zero emission, but have strict range limitations and long charging hours that pose as major inconveniences. The major hindrance in the path of the incredible fuel cell vehicles have been their exorbitant developmental costs and the lack of hydrogen refueling stations. Now, that the costs have been tamed a lot and the refueling stations are coming up, the car majors are ready to venture into the FCV ground.
Toyota still calls its fuel cell car the FCV which is all set to go on sale in the company’s home market Japan. Toyota says that its fuel cell vehicle will have a range of more than 500 kilometers on a fuel tank of hydrogen and it will take just a few minutes to fully refuel the vehicle.
The fuel cell vehicle uses compressed hydrogen gas as its fuel and the car’s energy is produced by combing the stored hydrogen along with the oxygen found in the atmosphere. The combination of these natural gases produces enough energy to drive the vehicle and in the processes emit water vapor from the vehicles exhaust pipe. The FCVs are really efficient green vehicles that offer superb road performance as well. The FCVs will offer the great driving experience of any premium conventional fuel sipping vehicles, but at the same time offer ultimate nature friendliness.
