Toyota Kirloskar Motor India is currently having a god time as both its recently launched vehicles i.e. the Etios Cross and the all new Corolla Altis launched in May are selling very well. However, the MPV segment leader from Toyota India, the Innova is getting stronger competition, which has got more intense as Honda has launched the Mobilio in India. However, Toyota is not sitting idle and is working on the all new models of its global bestsellers such as the Innova MPV and Fortuner premium SUV, both of which are the segment leaders in the car market of India.
The all new 2016 Toyota Innova has got spied a couple of times while going about its test rounds. The Toyota Innova was recently caught on its test rounds once again in the city of Bangalore, where Toyota Kirloskar has its headquarters and its production facility. The second generation model of the very popular Innova had commenced its road test phase in early July, and since then the test prototype models of the all new Innova have been getting spotted both in India as well as Thailand.
The all new 2016 Toyota Innova is expected to be a more stylish, premium and better MPV in all aspects. The company will base it on its new design philosophy in order to enhance its market appeal. The already highly reliable and sturdy MPV will get stronger, as it is based on an all-new ladder chassis. The next-gen Innova is also expected to get slightly bigger in size, as the vehicle’s long C-Pillars are visible in the test prototype. The bigger dimensions would naturally translate into enhanced interior space, which should mean a more comfortable third row as well as larger boot space.
The all new Innova is also expected to get added features and plusher interiors offering an enhanced overall drive experience and premium look and feel.
The next-gen 2016 Toyota Innova is also expected to have totally overhauled mechanical specifications and would draw power from the company’s new range of oil burners which the company is still developing. Sources close to the development process have also revealed that Toyota is also considering the idea of an automatic transmission diesel variant for the Innova.
The Innova has been one of the top selling products from the range of Toyota Kirloskar India ever since the MPV was launched in India. The current generation Innova currently generates an average monthly sales volume of about 4,600 units. The Toyota Innova is highly popular for its elegant styling, high performance, reliability and its superb comfortable interiors. The Innova has a very strong reputation in India, and is loved both by private as well as the fleet owners.
Post its market launch, the all new second generation Toyota Innova is sure to boost the sales rates. It is expected to launch in India sometime in the year 2016 and will compete with the Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet Enjoy.
