The world’s leading car major Toyota offers a great many car models in the global car market. In the vast range of the highly popular models from Toyota Motors, the Tacoma is also a greatly successful vehicle. The Toyota Tacoma has been one of the very favored models among the pickup truck enthusiasts in the world apart from the Toyota Hilux. Now, the Japanese car major is readying up the new generation models for both its Tacoma as well as the Hilux, both of which will hit the global markets next year.
While the front fascia of the all new Toyota Hilux pickup has been already revealed and is supposed to inspire the face of the next-gen Fortuner SUV, the company has now gone ahead revealing the frontal design of the all new Tacoma pickup. Toyota Motor has just offered the first glimpse of the front face of the highly anticipated 2016 Tacoma pickup truck via an image which came just days ahead of the 2015 Detroit Motor Show, where the model will be making its global debut.
The revealed image by Toyota Motors is the second teaser picture for the upcoming 2016 Tacoma pickup truck model that will be introduced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show that begins on 12th of January 2015.
The teaser image that has been released by Toyota however is a hazy one and shows the all new Tacoma features including a trapezoidal grille and sleeker headlights with LED elements, a new sculpted hood, wider fenders and a chrome finished trim.
The first teaser image had revealed the new Tacoma’s rear along with its new vertical tail lights, a refreshed rear bumper design a unique shape for its tail gate showing off the Tacoma logo.
The new design for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma seems to have drawn inspiration from the 4Runner SUV. However, to know the full styling of the new Tacoma including its interiors, the world’s audience will just have to wait until the vehicle’s official unveiling at the fast approaching Detroit Motor Show.
Previous speculations of the new Tacoma suggested that the vehicle will be getting a new transmission and will bid farewell to the 4-speed or 5-speed automatic gearbox. The vehicle is now expected to come equipped with only a new either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The ongoing 2.7 liter four-cylinder and the 4 liter V6 motors powering the Tacoma are also expected to be updated for higher fuel economy.
Toyota Motor has also been conducting last minute testing rounds of the all new Tacoma pickup truck, while the test prototypes models have been also caught by the spy shutterbugs in their fully camouflaged forms.
The spy pictures of the upcoming 2016 Tacoma have confirmed that it will have both double cab as well as access cab versions. It is also certain that the 2016 Tacoma will not get great updates to its styling, and the most remarkable changes will be endowed on the vehicle’s cabin.
