Toyota India made impressive 15.46% domestic profit in 2015 January, contributed by the sale of 14,364 units over 12,650 units rolled out in 2014 January. The company has started the year 2015 on a profitable note indeed. The company exported 1,714 units of its popular Etios car.
It is a celebration moment for Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian unit of the established parent Japanese firm. The sale trend of the automobile industry has been dim for quite a while, over two years, and Toyota succumbed to the economic pressures. The period of January 2015, has witnessed increased customer sentiment levels towards Toyota vehicle.
The key profit sellers during the month are the all new 4×4 AT Fortuner and all new Innova, as mentioned by Senior Vice President and Director of the Marketing and Sales department of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Raja N and he also thanked his customers for choosing and trusting the versatility and durability power of Toyota vehicles.
Innova and Fortuner have for quite a few years been key profit yielders for Toyota, the company has effectively planned its launch strategy in 2014, apart from the new Innova and AT 4×4 Fortuner, the other high sellers are all new Corolla Altis and Etios Cross. Apart from the launches, the reason for improved customer sentiment according to Raja N is the removal of excise price hike. He hopes the Government will look into favorable pathways to lower excise duty concessions in the coming fiscal budget, and it is a likely trigger to gain optimal growth.
The company is also banking on the ‘Make in India’ campaign adopted by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and is of the view that it is the initial step towards vast auto growth enhancement. To further build fast moving customer sentiment, Toyota is developing a huge ten seat Hiace luxury vehicle car.
The automobile market sentiment in India has been dim, and to combat the weakened economy, car manufacturers are battling the cut-throat competition race, by launching series of new products. Toyota managed to yield admirable volumes on the back of just a couple of big car launches, new Innova and 4×4 AT Fortuner. Customers have also become choosy about the whole car buying process, because of the unpredictable nature of fuel and commodity costs.
It is yet difficult to predict the market trend in the approaching months of 2015, and Toyota has its product line-up goal intact. There are some amazing new Toyota models to look forward to, such as Toyota new Innova, Toyota new Camry, Toyota Hiace, Toyota Rush and Toyota Vios.
Toyota has offered customers a range of models to choose from, and the products are interesting. The public will go crazy over the new Vios, it is probably new to the Indian market, and a hit model on international soil. The Rush too is kind of new to India, but a great profit maker in overseas markets. The company has started the year on a profit gaining note, and it will be interesting to view the consumer demand levels in the near future.
