Toyota Kirloskar Motor, The Indian subsidiary of the Japanese car manufacturer, has been working on new cars to remain competitive in the Indian car market. In addition to bringing forth the new generation different models of popular cars, Innova and Fortuner, the firm has decided to step in the new segment including mid-sized sedan and compact sports utility vehicles.
While the new Vios could be the mid-sized sedan of the company in India, there are no clear insights on the compact SUV yet.
Given below is the list of the new cars that Toyota is thinking to unveil in the coming months
New-generation Toyota Innova
The new-gen model of Innova has been in the testing phase for quite some time now. Spy shots, as on the internet, reveal that the new-gen model is believed to get a fresh and new front fascia with fitted two chrome slats on the grille, an integrated LED daytime running lights and swept-back head lamps accompanied with double barrier projectors.
The bumper of the car too look different as in the air-dam has been widened with new fog lamps. Whereas, the side profile will consist of new flared wheel arches and a narrow glass area. The new model of Toyota Innova is going to be based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TMGA), accordingly, it will be lighter and more agile in comparison with the current one. However, there will be no changes in the engine.
The expected launch of the new-gen model is in early 2016.
New-generation Toyota Fortuner
Another product of Toyota that is also receiving new-generation model is company’s extremely popular and highly in demand SUV, the Fortuner. There have not been much or major updates on this ever since its launch in the year 2009. The spy shots that have been taken reveals that the new-gen model of the Fortuner will too be featured with the similar twin-slat front grille that is going to be seen in the new-gen model of Innova also.
This new-gen model will comprise new bumper and completely new fog lamps. However, it is speculated that there will not be any changes in the overall shape of the car and is going to be same to the current model. Additionally, the engine line-up and platform too will remain unchanged and untouched in terms of any up-gradation.
The expected launch of the new Fortuner is lined up in the first half of the year 2016.

This new Vios, the mid-sized sedan, by Toyota is also undergoing numerous testing and evaluation in India for months. It is probable that the launch will take place somewhere in 2016 in the known Delhi Auto Expo only. The Vios, upon its launch, is definitely going to gain a share of the market dominated by Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
Toyota India has not announced anything officially but it has clarified its focus on big cars rather than mass segment cars. The company has tried its luck with its hatchbacks, Etios Sedan and Etios Liva, and both the cars are struggling to attract buyers. The new-generation Vios will share the style of Camry and Corolla with similar front fascia.
