Toyota has been working on the launch of new cars in India so as to get a wider share in the market. It has recently made official announcement that the company is not introducing any new car in the market this year but has plans to do so in the coming year 2016. The company plans to launch its 3 new cars in Auto Expo 2016 that will be available in the market in 2016.

Given below is the list of company’s upcoming cars that are to be launched in 2016.

2016 Toyota Innova- This is going to be the first new car of the company to go in market in 2016. it is expected that this car will make its first appearance in the Delhi Motor Show 2016 and will be given new power trains as well as design. As for the changes, the car will be getting twin-slat chrome grille, double barrel projectors on swept headlamps along with daytime running LED lamps. Moreover, it is further enhanced with addition of widened air dam and fog lamps.

This new MPV will also have new designed alloys, narrow glass, new wheel arches etc. At the rear, the car is rumoured to get newly designed tail lamps along with chrome inserts. The car will get power from diesel engine of 2.4 litre from GD family which will have capacity to generate peak power of 160 BHP and peak torque of 400 Nm. 2016 Toyota Innova will be available with both manual and automatic gear box.

The price is expected to range between INR 10 lakh to INR 15 lakh and It will compete the likes of Honda Mobilio and Renault Duster.

2016 Toyota Fortuner- More spacious than the existing one, this car too will make its first appearance in the year 2016 in Auto Show. As far as the styling is concerned, this new generation is equipped with chrome plated V-shaped twin slat grille, integrated projectors around the wraparound headlamps as that of Camry, LED daytime running lights, newly designed fog lamps along with a broader bumper. On the sides, it has new designed alloys, big wheel arches, smaller windows and broad fenders. The SUV will get two engines, diesel of 2.4 litres from GD family which will generate 160 BHP and diesel motor of 2.8 litres that will be capable of churning power of 177 BHP. Also, both automatic as well as manual gearbox will be available.

It is expected to be priced between INR 22 lakh to INR 27 lakhs and will probably launch in the middle of 2016. It will compete with Ford Endeavour, SsangYong Rexton, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

Toyota Vios- The renowned Japanese car maker has planned to launch an all new Vios sedan in the country to compete with Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz. This car will be based on the company’s hatchback, Yaris and will have capacious as well as quality interiors. It will be available with VVT-i petrol engine of 1.5 litre which will generate 107 BHP power and torque of 141 Nm and D-4D diesel engine of 1.4 litres that will offer power of 88 PS. It is expected that the car will have both AMT and manual gearbox.

Based on the Yaris hatchback, the Vios will offer premium and spacious interiors. The car will be matted with two options that includes the 107bhp and the 88PS of power. The first comes with the petrol 1.5l VVT-I engine and the latter with the 1.4l D-4D. Both manual and automatic transmission version will be on offer.

It is considered that the price range will be between INR 8 lakh to INR 12 lakh and will be launched in 2016. It will rival against Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Ciaz along with Skoda Rapid.
