Toyota has launched successors for its two IMV Products i.e. Innovative International Multipurpose Vehicle products. The third is also due and this third product will launch in Thailand before the end of this year. The third product of Toyota is Toyota Innova. The Innova is the best-selling product for Toyota Kirloskar Motor and also important from the perspective of Indian market as well.
The news earlier said that the Toyota’s next generation Innova will be showcased at Auto Expo in Delhi on 5-9 February 2016. But now the humors that it will be available on sell by the end of the year 2016. If you are expecting, the new Innova will look like its previous model, then uh, you are wrong. The next generation Innova will not look like the current generation car. The ongoing model i.e. 2014 model of Innova car, does not have aggressive front. While it is said that the new Innova is more aggressive than the previous ones. It will have a large windshield, large grille, high seat, head lamps are boxier with sharp edge and less rounded with LED daytime running lights and fog lights and SUV-like stance at the front. To sum up its looks, you can say that its front end will feature tweaked front, rear bumpers and bigger grille. The new Innova’s wheel arches are more subtle. The interesting feature of new model is the design of the rear-quarter glass.
The new Toyota Innova’s feature are not less attractive. Its interior possesses features like dual-tone interior with updated steering wheel and tablet-size touchscreen. In India, when launched, Toyota Innova have to face the major competition with Renault Lodgy, Honda Mobilio, and Nissan Evalia. The expected price of 2016 Toyota Innova is somewhere around 1.5 lakh more than the current model of Innova.
The company Toyota Kirloskar Motors have planned all strategies for future and working aggressively on it. It is working to improve the capacity utilization of Innova. Under the hood, the Japanese manufacturer are going to invest about 1,000 crore Rs. on the new engine plant and new projects. Japanese manufacturer’s new projects also includes Innova, Fortuner and sedan in the next coming years. Every year in India, Toyota is planning to produce approximately 90,000 units every year of next generation Innova.
The company is building new Innova on a new platform. It is much lighter than in comparison to the current generation Innova. The next generation Innova could include 2.4 or 2.5-litre diesel engines along with automatic transmissions and 6-speed manual.

It is said that, the new GD diesel engine is 10 percent more fuel efficient.
The next generation Innova, gets an automatic transmission in select markets for the petrol variant.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has taken proper measures for safety. On all variants of Innova, they made dual front airbags. Along with this feature, they are including safety features like, VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), side and curtain airbags, and for improved frontal crash protection re-developed ladder-frame construction.
The current Innova is available in market at least till next year.
