A report states that the all new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis is in great demand in India. And the better news is that the new Corolla is getting great demands for the automatic version. According to report about 60 to 70 percent of the total bookings for the all new Altis are for the sedan’s Automatic variant. The report also points out that while the waiting period for the 2014 Corolla Altis petrol version is of a month and half in Delhi, the sedan’s diesel version is currently enjoying a waiting period of up to two months. The demands for the all new Corolla are expected to go up in the coming months as well.

The all new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis premium sedan is offered in the Indian car market in a total five petrol model trims, while the diesel version of the new Corolla gets four model trims.

The all new Altis gets the same 1.8 liter VVTi petrol and 1.4 liter D-4 D diesel mills as before. While the 1.8 Liter Dual VVTi Petrol engine churning out 138.1bhp of power and a peak torque of 173Nm, while the diesel 1.4 liter D4D generates 87.2bhp of power and 205Nm of torque.

The petrol engine comes mated to a superb CVT-i optional 7 speed automatic Shiftmatic gearbox with the newly introduced “Paddle Shift”, while the diesel mill is coupled with a 6 speed manual gearbox.

The growth output in domestic sector in May 2014 is a significant 18% with the flow of 11,833 pieces, much more than 10,023 pieces noted same time last year. Toyota exported 1,397 units of Etios in May, on the admirable increase the Vice President in Sales and Marketing sector of the company, Raja N said, ‘’we have revived our lost production with growth profits in May.’’

Most of the magic happened in May with the launch of Corolla Altis and Etios Cross. ‘’The response has been great with the two cars, and we extend our gratitude of appreciation to customers’’ said Raja. Toyota sold 458 units of Altis and 555units of Etios Cross.

The company has managed to sell a total of 13,230 vehicles last month as compared against the sale of 12,502 units in May last year. This has resulted in the company getting a sales growth of 6 percent. Toyota India’s exports have also increased for the month of May and have clocked at 1,397 units of Etios cars.

In the domestic car market of India, Toyota Kirloskar sold 11,833 vehicles in the month of May 2014 as compared against the sale of 10,023 vehicles in the same month in 2013. This has also accounted for a great sales growth of 18 percent. While commenting on the monthly sales performance of Toyota Kirloskar, the company’s Director and Senior Vice President of the Sales and Marketing division, Mr. N. Raja said that the company has gained back normalcy in the production process and also has registered good market growth in the month of May.

He added that the company has launched the brand new Etios Cross and the All New Corolla Altis, both in the month of May which has also boosted the company’s growth. He said that the company has received a very good response for both the newly launched cars and would like to thank the valued consumers for showing their appreciation for the new vehicles.

He added that the company has already started delivering the new models in the last month itself. Toyota India has registered the sales of 555 units for the Etios Cross and 548 units for the Corolla Altis.

New 11th generation model of the iconic Toyota Corolla Altis was launched in the Indian car market at a starting price of Rs. 11,99,000 for the petrol variant and at Rs. 13,07,324 for the base diesel variant (ex Showroom Delhi). Pricing:

The new Corolla Altis costs Rs 12 to 16 lakhs; the initial price of Fluence is Rs 14.3 lakhs and stretches to Rs 15.6 lakhs.

It is a tough battle between the two models; the two cars are equally attractive in terms of exteriors and interior décor. Corolla comes in greater excitement package contributed by seven inch touch screen. Corolla has more to offer with regard to engine options, there is only a diesel option with Fluence. The 2014 Corolla Altis will be available in both petrol and diesel version in the Indian car market. The new-gen model has carried over the same engine range from the previous model, though Toyota has stiffened the car’s suspension in order to offer better ride experience. The petrol version of the new 2014 Corolla will be powered by a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder petrol mill with Dual VVT-i technology. The engine is capable of churning out a good 140 PS of max power at 6,400 rpm and it is mated to a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox along with an option of a 7 speed stepped CVT automatic gearbox as well.

On the other hand, the diesel avatar of the new Corolla is powered by a 1.4 liter 4 cylinder diesel engine. This engine has the capacity to produce a max power of 88.4 PS at 3,800 rpm, and is coupled with a 6 speed manual gearbox only with no automatic transmission option.

The new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis has become little longer and a bit lower as well, attaining a leaner and meaner stance.
